I have added logos and pictures to the avatar list that are Cigar connected. If you have something you want me to add, logo - pictures - et cetera, send them to me and I will put them up for your use and other Long Ash Members use. |

This is a great idea. Thanks for putting it together.
I would like to suggest a section on "Smoke of the Week." A member would suggest a cigar for everyone to smoke weekly and review. That will give us lots to talk about. |

More Comments.... Derek - Love the idea. I'll definitely take a look and drop you some ideas. One idea i think would be great if there is a way to do it, is to have a way to funnel in all cigar related news to the site. So the site is the only place you need to go to get all the news you need and want.
the other one is having a section where members can write their own reviews and a different member's review is featured on the home page each day. And then people can comment from there. Rather than having a list of cigars and having to read hundreds of different reviews. Sort of like "reviews for the smoker, by the smoke" rather than the same 1 or 2 people doing all the reviews all the time.
It would also be fun if the community as a whole created the way cigars were rated. Some sort of simple yet fun rating system.
I'll definitely sign up and keep the ideas flowing.
Great stuff! |

More Comments..... Craig Miller - Try to remember the newspaper rule "above the fold" when it comes to websites. Your most important information should be "above the fold" so to speak. People don't like to scroll much if they don't have to. That is, unless it is worth it. The rather large cigar banner at the top uses (IMHO) too much precious space. What is it that you want your visitors to see first? What will entice them to scroll down? The large banner made me scroll down, but you have to have compelling data to make it worth my effort to stay on your site, else visitors feel like they've "been had." You have 3 seconds within which to capture your visitor's attention, maybe less. What will draw them to your website again? |
